Directed by Clarence G. Badger
Clara Bow, 1927, from Elinor Glyn's story: a shopgirl who has It — the quality Glyn invented as a brand — and uses it on her department-store boss (Antonio Moreno). Clarence Badger directed for Paramount; Glyn appears as herself. Bow is the reason the word stuck. The Coney Island date, the yacht, the roommate who is the other kind of girl. It is a late silent about class as a look you can put on, and Bow putting it on so hard the picture still feels like a dare.
