Directed by Fred C. Newmeyer
Harold Lloyd's first feature, 1922: a coward whose grandmother gives him a magic talisman that is not magic, only a story about a man who once used it. Fred Newmeyer directed. The tramp, the girl, the town that needs a hero. Lloyd is still building the glasses character; the set pieces (the chase, the haunted house of courage) are already his. It is the film in which meekness is a costume he takes off in public, then puts back on at home.
