Bed and Sofa

A printer puts up an old friend on the sofa in the one room he shares with his wife, and within weeks the friend has the bed. The housing shortage is the plot and Room plays the arrangement as arithmetic, not scandal. When she gets pregnant and neither man is sure, she goes to the clinic, looks at the waiting room, and takes a train out of Moscow instead. She leaves both of them the key.
