Mack Sennett, 1919: Bothwell Browne as an American captain who dresses as a woman to steal the Kaiser's plans. Ford Sterling is the Kaiser; Ben Turpin a guardsman; the Bathing Beauties tour with the picture. Five reels, finished just before the Armistice, released late. Anti-German slapstick as a drag act, and Browne, a rival of Julian Eltinge, is the whole method. It is a war comedy that arrived after the war and still sold tickets.
